Care-Alive at the Oscars

Care-Alive invites you to join us for our 3rd ANNUAL

OSCAR NIGHT GALA!!!

Will The Social Network  (a.k.a. that Facebook movie) continue to win friends and rack up the big prizes or will it be sucker punched by Fighter, or perhaps shown a little True Grit by the Coen brothers? Will Colin Firth be making his first Oscar Acceptance (King's) Speech or will the evening's co-host James Franco step out to make an acceptance speech of his own? Find out with us as we celebrate all things Hollywood, while having a ton of fun and raising funds for the Caroline Cunningham Foundation for Epilepsy (Care-Alive).

Setting: The Malaparte Room at the new TIFF Bell Lightbox; located at 350 King Street West, on the 6th Floor, Toronto, ON, M5V 3X5.

Malaparte is Oliver and Bonacini’s spectacular new private event space with floor to ceiling windows; it features a breathtaking cityscape view and a Hollywood themed décor. Its chef-driven cuisine and unparalleled service promise to make this year’s event a night to remember.

Time: Doors open at 7 PM. Please arrive no later than 8 PM.

Tickets: $100 in advance, $125 at the door. Your ticket includes fantastic food, a live screening of the Academy Awards, plus lots of door and ballot prizes.

Plot: Think you know who the OSCAR winners will be? Turn in your completed OSCAR ballots* for a chance to win one of our our fabulous ballot prizes! Don’t worry if you haven’t seen all (or even any) of the nominated films, there will be lots of ways for you to play and win! We’ll also have a silent auction from 8 to 10 PM.

*Download your OSCAR Ballots. We will also email ballots to attendees prior to the event and will have ballots available at the registration tables.

Style Guide: Dress to Impress on the Red Carpet!

Director's Notes: The TIFF Bell Lightbox is located at 350 King Street West just a few blocks west of University Avenue. There is underground parking available on Widmer Street (just west of the Lightbox, you can turn North onto Widmer from King both east and west; parking is a $10 flat rate fee), and if you're "TTCing", it's less than a 5-minute walk from the St. Andrew subway station and easily accessible via the King streetcar.

Producers: A special thanks to our Gold Sponsor Odlum Brown Limited
and our Silver Sponsor Freedom International Brokerage for helping to make the evening possible!

We hope to see you there!!!

Care-Alive (The Caroline Cunningham Foundation for Epilepsy)

Care-Alive™ (The Caroline Cunningham Foundation for Epilepsy) was started by her family and friends in 2009, after Caroline’s death from SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy) in 2007, at the age of 32.

The goals of the foundation are to provide support for individuals living with epilepsy, to fund research into this poorly understood (and often misunderstood) medical disorder and to raise awareness of both Epilepsy and SUDEP.

Care-Alive is run entirely by volunteers in order to keep administrative and operating costs to a bare minimum; which means, that we are able to direct almost 100% of our fundraising proceeds to the causes we support.

In 2010, Care-Alive was the largest sponsor of the Sunny Days Kids Camp - a day camp for children with epiepsy living in the Halton Peel Region. We also sponsored seizure-response dogs through the Lions Dog Guides Foundation of Canada.

You can find out more about us and what we do on our website at www.care-alive.com
